The purpose of this study was to determine what features of generative-AI prompts can be manipulated to write text messages that evoke urges to move in middle aged and older adults. This study included an online survey of 640 U.S. adults age 40 and older. This survey used a within-subjects factorial design to determine the value of different prompt features on eliciting urges to move. Participants read, and rated how strongly they desired to move after reading each. This research also examined how middle-aged and older adults perceive the cultural sensitivity and quality of messages authored by generative-AI, as well as how awareness of AI authorship influences these perceptions.
